Thank you so much!! Well at first I was struggling and I'm actually still not pleased with how it looks, but basically I made a layer with the base color and silhouette of the hair, then I made a shadow layer, a light layer and a highlights layer. I was really trying to think of the hair as a bunch of geometric shapes, rendering the forms, instead of thinking "oh I'm painting hair", that way I avoided painting individual strands early on (because that's always bad). A bit of overpaint over all the layers aaaand that's about it!
Damn dude! this is awesome! your lines are so clean and they flow so well!
Thanks, but I can't take credit for the lineart. Devgear did the lineart as I'm no good at that yet. I've only added flat colour, but thanks anyway.
this is AWESOME! <3
Thank you!
i love the coloring on this! What size brush did you use for the lineart?
yo thanks, i tend to shift around my brush sizes alot. I Usually start around the 3-5 pixel size and the outside linework is usually just some large size to get a consistent boldness/thickness.
Nostalgia :,)
^_^
How did you render this :o it looks great!
Thank you very much!
I started it with the regular sketch/base colors/shading/lights/reflected lights, with some 'scratchy' lines here and there for effect, and then blended all the layers together to add some extra detail by painting! Hope that clarifies it a little! 'v'/
just makin art :>
